Dollymount Started the strongest and just kept going, getting better as the game progressed.
The scoring started in the 7th minute when Germain won the ball at left back and then proceeded the beat off 2 tackles and lay the ball off to Mick who played a couple of one twos with Alan Kelly before passing to Gav Hughes coming in from the left and scored his first of two goals, with his left foot. "Who would have believed that"
A minute later Dollymount were 2 up. From Hogg's kick out, Kellier flicked the ball on to Mick who calmly beat the keeper.
After 12 mins Dollymount were 3 up. Fionn rushed into the box, had to beat the keeper twice, shrug off a defender's tackle before firing home from a tight angle. Bohs got a fortunate goal, when a deflected shot had Steve Hogg slipping in the bad conditions, 3-1 with only a quarter of an hour play.
Kellier lays the ball out to Fionn on the wing, who in turn passes to Conor in the 6 yard box who twists away from 2 markers, to tee up Mick who side footed the ball home.
5-1 came on the 32nd minute when Fionn chased down the defender and had him panicking and when he tried to back pass to his keeper, Fionn got a toe poke on the ball and into the net.
The second half started the same as the first and after only 3 minutes Dollymount were 6-1 up. There was a big build up of about 20 passes and that involved most of the players getting a touch, finishing off with a cross on the
right from Conor, which Gav caught on volley, giving their keeper no chance.
Kellier made it 7-1 when he pick up the ball 35 yards out, in the centre of the pitch but in space, he looked up and saw the keeper of his line so he calmly sent the ball sailing over the keeper's head and into the empty net.
Bohemians got 2 consolations goals as Dollymount ran out easy winners on a messy rainy day.
It was great to see the whole team play as a team and pass the ball around, using the wings. The defence of Aido, Glenn, Germain and Steve R. and of course keeper Hogg played as a unit and dealt very well with their attacks and the bad weather, making the game look easy at times. The central midfield of DOC and Conor, helped on occasions by Kellier and Mick won most of the midfield tussles which helped keep Dollymount on the front foot. Fionn and Gav both worked very hard running up and wings and causing loads of problems for Bohs and helping out the Dollymount defence when needed. Alan McLoughlin, Tom Lillis and James Tracy came on for Gav, Kellier and DOC who all had very good games.
